Wool Carpet Care

With proper care your Hibernia carpet will give you many years of enjoyment and comfort. Wool carpet is like many other natural products, which become more beautiful with age and use. Proper vacuuming with a good adjustable upright vacuum on a regular basis is essential. You need to make sure you set your vacuum so that the brushes barely touch the face of the carpet. Wool carpet will shed immediately after installation. This is normal and the shedding will dissipate within a short period of time with proper vacuuming. Your vacuum cleaner dust bag should be emptied when half full. Your vacuum will remove foot borne dry soil. For accidents and spills that occur please refer to our information chart for cleaning your Hibernia wool carpet.

Wool Performance

  • Walk off mats are suggested at entrances and adjacent to hard surface flooring.
  • All seams must be sealed with appropriate seam sealer to prevent edge raveling.
  • Conventional installation over firm flat cushion is recommended.
  • Chair mats are recommended under office chairs with roller casters.
  • Shades may vary from yarn to yarn lot.
  • Pattern match is guaranteed to be within recognized industry standards. (Carpet & Rug Institute publication #104.)

TAKING CARE

Regular carpet cleaning is essential to maintain the appearance of your wool carpet. Use a good vacuum, preferably upright and with an adjustable beater bar. (Be sure the beater bar is not worn .) Remember, your wool carpet will shed immediately after installation. This is quite normal and will dissipate within a short period of time.
